Here are some expression studies done for no particular reason or project. They started out as tiny scribblings in my travel sketchbook,. These expressions are some that I liked, so I decided to do them a little larger, and I then did a quick inking job, so I guess you could also call them inking studies if you like. Not much time for chit-chat today, I'm posting some Halloween invitations and such in my Zazzle Shop today, feel free to stop by if you have a chance.

Gas Pump Girl
This is another one that I had forgotten about and recently stumbled across. This is watercolor with ink on watercolor paper, it was done sometime last year, but I can't remember why or what for.

Belated Nakey Wednesday
Sorry for the lack of posts lately, I've been trying to get an awful lot of things done, and then I had a minor injury flare up, but that's not why you called. Its actually Thursday at this point, but it's always a good time for Nakey Wednesday, and now without further delay, here is an undated pinup test I did in markers, colored pencils & ink. Yeah, I know I did a pretty shitty scan & paste job. Ordinarily I don't post stuff this big, but I had actually forgotten about her and just stumbled on it a little while ago. Nevertheless, here she is; Happy Nakey Wednesday.
Cheers!

Semi-Nakey Wednesday!
I haven't decided, but I'm thinking of making Wednesdays, Nakey Wednesday from now on. This will be a celebration of the human figure, usually the female figure. This is basically just an excuse for me to draw naked gals, but this is my blog and I can do as I please. Oh, and just to clarify, Nakey Wednesday will only be here on A Walk on the Wiles Side, I don't want anybody showing up to work naked on my account. Although that reminds me of a funny story from art school. Maybe it's only funny to me, but I got one of our models to go outside without his pants on for a smoke break. Although kind of rural, it was in a fairly conservative part of town. Somehow the instructor knew exactly who was responsible for it.
Anyway, I still haven't decided for sure, so I've split it up:
First a couple of clothed gals in what I call daily poses. As I recall they were both waiting for coffee, but not at the same time. There is also a little piece of the guy on the toilet from last week's sketch dump in the lower right corner.
Second we have four nakey gals, I suppose if I were a higher class artist I would call them nudes, but I really just like the word nakey. So there. These were all done from imagination if you're wondering.

Year Round Tiki!
I'm still feeling a little nostalgic for all things Tiki, so here is a little something from the sketchbook. This was done in a coffee shop while people watching. I got to wondering recently if there is an official Tiki Season. If there is I would have to assume it ends with the summer. Well, I call bull poo on that—Let there be Tiki all year long!
